Mamagoto Launches in Andheri

Plus hundred points for the suburbs! Especially the Andheri bylanes that are now home to some of the best and most renowned food options the city has to offer. The latest entrant to add to the list is Mamagoto, which is one of my all time favorite restaurants in this city. I had blogged about my recent experience at their Kala Ghoda outlet, for a cocktail making session here. Excellent food, quirky interiors, and such convenient locations make them my favorites. Not to forget every time I eat there I imagine I’m in some Jackie Chan or Kung-Fu Panda film. So I was thrilled when they decided to launch in Andheri, so so close to where I work.

I was lucky enough to be given a sneak peek at the restaurant a day before it launched to the public. I was looking forward to a lovely dinner with good food, perfect ambiance and perfect company. And the evening did not disappoint.

‘Play With Your Drink’ at Mamagoto

Mamagoto in a short span since its launch in Mumbai last year has become everyone’s favorite go-to place for delicious Asian food combined with a quirky, relaxed vibe. The atmosphere is relaxed and kitsch, and coupled with their amazing food flavors it has fast become my favorite too! In a short span they have launched three branches in Mumbai- Bandra, Ghatkopar, Kala Ghoda- and are soon planning to launch in Andheri too. Happy news for Mamagoto fans such as me! Now I can get their Chiang Mai Train Station Noodles, Water Chestnut Spring Rolls, and Penang Curry close to work. Yaay!

Navroze Celebrations with Bawi Bride

Inspite of being a Bawi myself, I’m constantly craving for good, traditional Parsi food. It’s not something I eat on a regular basis or that gets cooked at home. So whenever my dear friend and fabulous cook Perzen Patel aka Bawi Bride invites me over, I never refuse because I know a food filled evening awaits. Perzen’s blog and subsequently her catering kitchen started off because she had got married and needed to start cooking traditional Parsi food for her family. Armed with a couple of cookbooks and determination she’s mastered the art of Parsi cooking.

She called a bunch of us foodies to her place to celebrate Navroze is the Irani new year, and marks the spring equinox. Navroze is celebrated by laying a table with different elements of nature which are meant to symbolize good luck in the coming year. The celebrations are incomplete without a hearty meal, which is what I was most looking forward too.

Mad Over Donuts (MOD) introduces Cakelings

Donuts in India are synonymous with the brand Mad Over Donuts (MOD). Everyone’s been going to them for their donut fix since years now. I made meals double and Dark Knight in my college days. They recently launched their range of cupcakes called ‘Cakelings’. Firstly, I really like the name cakelings. Its a  play on the word ‘duckling’. These cakelings are slightly smaller than a regular cupcake size, hence the name.

Now I wonder why MOD had to go launch cupcakes, since they were an exclusive donut brand. I guess the cupcake fever and demand spares no one. We were called for a Cakeling Judging session where we were made to try out all the different cupcakes and give our feedback and rate them.
